As many in the world celebrates Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, the Day of Atonement, a time when all vows to God and others are annulled, I bask in the mercy and forgiveness of this day.
It's not odd, now that I think of it, that I was attracted to this faith even as a young girl, before I knew all its benefits. What I did know was the fury, and account-keeping of a bitter parent but was yet to experience the full culture of shame, cruelty, and mercilessness of the Christian church. It took a long life to find this kind of love and acceptance, for Love is what it is. It has been more than worth the wait, with some interesting stories along the way.
