Bravo to my talented and creative friend Erica Filanc Tanamachi who directed a superb documentary which premiered at the CAAMFest, Center for Asian American Media yesterday. Her feature, "Home Court" was brilliant and moving. Read more about it here:
Home Court is a story of an All-American baller Ashley Chea following her pursuit of college level hoop dreams. In the three years this film follows her, we witness the highs and lows of her Cambodian immigrant family’s experiences in America enroute to her acceptance to an Ivy on a basketball scholarship.
Despite being a busy writer, director, producer and mother of two, she always made time to coach and encourage me as I wrote my book. Thank you Erica Filanc Tanamachi! I love you sister!
My book Redeemed, A Memoir of a Stolen Childhood, coming out June 25, 2024.
